China has initiated an anti-subsidy investigation into certain dairy products imported from the European Union (EU). The Ministry of Commerce confirmed that the investigation is in response to a request from the Dairy Association of China and the China Dairy Industry Association on behalf of the domestic industry.
According to Xinhua news agency, the probe will focus on specific dairy products such as fresh cheese, curd, and blue cheese imported from the EU between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024. The investigation will also assess any damage caused to related Chinese industries from January 1, 2020, to March 31, 2024.

The probe is scheduled to conclude before August 21, 2025, with the possibility of an extension under special circumstances.
