Mondelēz International appoints Toby Smith as president for Australia, New Zealand and Japan

Toby will now oversee 2,300 employees, eight manufacturing plants and a business that sources from over 700 local Australian suppliers

Mondelēz International, custodians of iconic and well-loved brands including Cadbury Dairy Milk, Oreo and The Natural Confectionery Company, announced the appointment of Toby Smith as President of Japan, Australia and New Zealand, effective 4 January 2025.

Toby succeeds Darren O’Brien who has been promoted to the company’s global Chief Corporate and Government Affairs Officer role and will be relocating to the company’s headquarters in Chicago, United States.

With over 20 years at Mondelēz International, Toby brings extensive experience in senior sales and leadership roles locally and internationally. Most recently as Vice President of Sales Australia, he led transformational initiatives that elevated Mondelēz to preferred snacking supplier status with customers.

Toby will now oversee 2,300 employees, eight manufacturing plants and a business that sources from over 700 local Australian suppliers, driving bold growth for the company’s globally renowned brands.
