The new plant positions the company as India’s first integrated, BIS‑certified manufacturing hub for premium commercial refrigeration and foodservice equipment – a milestone that strengthens domestic manufacturing and elevates India’s role in the global foodservice equipment landscape
Spread across 1.06 lakh sq. ft., the facility brings manufacturing, assembly, quality assurance, testing, and warehousing under one roof. Designed as a multi‑product, multi‑line operation, it currently houses eight production lines with an installed capacity of 400 machines per shift, enabling the scale required to serve India’s rapidly expanding hospitality and foodservice sectors.
The plant integrates global technology transfers, internationally benchmarked manufacturing processes, and stringent quality systems, supported by a structured roadmap to increase localisation over time. Manufacturing teams have undergone specialised overseas training with Trufrost & Butler’s global partners, ensuring that every product meets international performance and reliability standards. Several categories also feature advanced capabilities such as IoT connectivity, recipe‑setting functions, and preventive maintenance alerts.
The Bhiwandi facility has already secured BIS certification for over 30 product categories, including soft‑serve freezers, coffee machines, coffee bean grinders, pizza ovens, bakery ovens, dough sheeters, bakery mixers, steamers, speed ovens, and fryers. An additional 25 products are expected to receive certification by July 2026. Select categories will also receive BEE star ratings, reinforcing the company’s commitment to quality, compliance, and energy efficiency.
Neeraj Seth, Co‑Founder, Trufrost & Butler, said: “India’s hospitality industry is creating some of the most exciting foodservice brands in the world. As these businesses scale, they need equipment that meets global quality standards and delivers reliability, compliance, and strong after‑sales support. The Bhiwandi facility is a strategic investment to build those capabilities in India. It gives us the foundation to expand manufacturing capacity, deepen localisation, strengthen product development, and serve customers more effectively across the region. Our ambition is to create a manufacturing platform that supports not only our growth but also the long‑term evolution of India’s foodservice equipment ecosystem.”
Looking ahead, Trufrost & Butler plans to expand production lines to meet rising demand while steadily increasing local value addition across product categories. The company is also exploring export opportunities in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, the Middle East, Africa, and eventually Europe.
As part of its long‑term vision, the company aims to build one of India’s most compliant and future‑ready manufacturing ecosystems for commercial refrigeration and foodservice equipment. The Bhiwandi facility has been designed as a scalable platform to support evolving industry requirements and contribute meaningfully to India’s manufacturing capabilities.
Backed by growth capital from Carpediem Capital Partners, Trufrost & Butler continues to invest in manufacturing, innovation, and service infrastructure as it expands its presence across India and international markets.
