The China Synthetic Resin Association and other evaluation agencies fully affirmed Nestlé’s efforts to actively adopt recyclable plastic packaging materials

The two-day TOP10 award ceremony for plastic recycling design and innovative applications for recycled plastics was held in Suzhou. The event was hosted by the China Resin Association Plastics Recycling Branch and was discontinued by the Future Innovation Center.

New plastic observation institutions and other institutions participated in the selection. Through the graded review, Nestlé applied for two product packaging to receive the TOP10 award for plastic easy cycle design. This award recognizes Nestlé’s use of environmentally-friendly recyclable plastic packaging materials in 2019, and is well-known and ultimately honored by Nestlé’s Optimum Plastic Packaging Composite Film and Baby Nutrition Bio-Based Plastic Milk Powder. These products have been successfully listed in 2019.

Wang Xuetao, director of packaging at Nestlé Group, said at the awards ceremony: “This award is an encouragement for Nestlé to promote environmentally sustainable plastic packaging in China, and this is only a good start. In the future, Nestlé hopes to create sustainable innovation in packaging materials and create The future without waste will play a more leading role. I hope to bring value to China’s plastic recycling.”

The China Synthetic Resin Association and other evaluation agencies fully affirmed Nestlé’s efforts to actively adopt recyclable plastic packaging materials. They believe that Nestlé uses green design as its corporate strategy and continues to practice in product definitions to achieve practical results. Bio-based materials replace petroleum-based materials, and the use of layer varnish is worth promoting.

As a world-renowned food and beverage and nutrition brand, responding to the challenges of plastic waste and striving to achieve zero environmental impact in operations is an important part of Nestlé’s commitment to share value for shareholders and society. In 2018, Nestlé proposed a “global packaging commitment” to achieve 100% recyclability or reusability of all packaging by 2025.
