The Saudi Halal Centre, an affiliate of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, has launched a new Halal Mark Track aligned with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to sustainability and quality in the global halal sector.
The initiative is part of an integrated partnership with Halal Product Development Company, owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and THIQAH. Together, the partners aim to strengthen the reliability of the halal ecosystem while supporting long-term sector sustainability, underscoring the Kingdom’s leadership in the international halal industry.
The ESG-aligned Halal Mark Track introduces a qualitative framework that combines Saudi Arabia’s approved halal standards—overseen by the Saudi Halal Centre—with ESG compliance requirements. This integrated approach is designed to enhance trust in halal-certified products and boost their competitiveness in regional and global markets.
The partnership leverages the combined capabilities of Halal Product Development Company and THIQAH to build an advanced, technology-enabled ecosystem that improves beneficiary experiences and applies rigorous evaluation criteria for products and services. Establishments awarded the mark gain a higher level of distinction, supporting their expansion within Saudi Arabia and abroad, while manufacturers and service providers are enabled to meet quality and sustainability benchmarks through a trusted, internationally aligned system.
Positioned as a strategic initiative, the ESG-aligned Halal Mark Track seeks to elevate compliance and quality standards across the halal sector, helping local and international companies improve operational efficiency, expand export opportunities, and further establish Saudi Arabia as a central hub for the global halal industry.
