Lallemand Health Solutions announced that its Vice President of Research and Development, Sylvie Binda, has been appointed to the Scientific Council of the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE) for a five-year term.

Her appointment, formalised by a joint decree from Annie Genevard, Minister of Agriculture, Food, and Food Sovereignty, and Philippe Baptiste, Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Space, was published in the Official Journal. The newly formed council brings together 15 distinguished members from the international academic, economic, and scientific communities to guide INRAE’s strategic research directions.

As Vice President of R&D at Lallemand Health Solutions and Vice President of European Microbiome Innovation for Health (EMIH), Sylvie Binda is recognised as a leading scientific voice in the business world. A microbiologist by training, she has played a pivotal role in advancing research and innovation in probiotics, microbiome science, and nutrition. Her contributions extend beyond Lallemand through active participation in scientific associations and collaborative initiatives shaping the future of microbiome health.

“I feel both proud and humble: proud to have been recognised by my peers, and humble in the face of the weight of these responsibilities. I am deeply grateful to those who have supported me and excited to contribute to INRAE’s major scientific directions,” said Sylvie Binda.

This appointment underscores INRAE’s commitment to fostering dialogue between academia and industry and promoting an interdisciplinary approach to address agricultural, food, and environmental challenges.
