Bharat International Rice Conference 2025 to Strengthen India’s Global Trade Footprint, Advancing Innovation and Sustainability in Agriculture

The two-day Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025, an initiative by the Government of India which begins on 30 October 2025 will position India’s leadership in the global rice supply chain and is would generate trade opportunities worth nearly Rs 2 lakh crore and Export agreements worth around Rs 25,000 crore are expected to be signed during the conference, reflecting India’s expanding role in global rice markets.

Indian Rice Exporters Federation, Vice President, Dev Garg, said All States and Union Territories will showcase their unique rice varieties and heritage grains, reflecting India’s cultural and agricultural diversity. “India, one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of rice, supplying to over 170 countries, plays a crucial role in global food security. BIRC 2025 will bring together exporters, policymakers, global buyers, and technology innovators to strengthen trade partnerships and promote sustainable growth, “ Garg explained.

With the institutional support of the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025 will be held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, on 30–31 October 2025.

“Our government is providing all-around support, and with its help, we are using new technology tools to enhance and showcase the AgriTech Pavilion, featuring the live launch of India’s first AI-based rice sorting system. This is powered by Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, where the system can simultaneously analyse the colour, size, shape, and structure of rice grains. This innovation allows for greater precision and efficiency while reducing costs, power consumption, and manpower — marking a major advancement in India’s agri-processing sector,” Garg pointed out.

Besides this, the BIRC 2025 Conference will also showcase the Women Entrepreneur, Startup, and MSME Pavilion with a focus on innovations across the agriculture value chain, including seed development, post-harvest technologies, packaging, branding, digital trade, and blockchain-based traceability. Live demonstrations, mentorship sessions and export-onboarding opportunities will support new and women-led enterprises.
