The Barry Callebaut Group, Switzerland-headquartered manufacturer of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products, has announced that the Board of Directors has appointed Vamsi Mohan Thati President Asia Pacific and member of the Executive Committee, effective April 1, 2023. Vamsi Mohan Thati is succeeding Jo Thys, who was been appointed as Chief Operations Officer as of January 1, 2023.
Mohan Thati, an Indian national, was President of Greater China and Mongolia for The Coca-Cola Company. Prior to that, he served as President of Coca-Cola’s South Pacific Business Unit (Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands). He joined Coca-Cola in 1998 and held various leadership roles across Asia Pacific in sales, operations and general management.
He demonstrated strong leadership in a variety of fields such as operations, market execution, and general management at The Coca-Cola Company Bottling Investments Group as President of the Greater China and Mongolia Operating Unit at The Coca-Cola Company, and has considerable management experiences as a manager at business units in the Asia region.
Mohan Thati holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata. He has also completed the Advanced Management Programme from Harvard Business School, US.
Reporting directly to the CEO, Mohan Thati will be based in the company’s regional headquarters in Singapore.
