The region’s largest food and beverage processing forum starts November 6
The fifth edition of Gulfood Manufacturing, the Middle East’s biggest annual food and beverage processing forum, begins a three-day run at Dubai World Trade Centre from November 6.
Across the three days, the event will see food production experts from more than 60 countries attend and try to envision ‘the factory of the future’ ahead of the fourth industrial revolution.
Strong market demand has prompted an exhibitor intake of over 1,600 manufacturers and suppliers with a wide range of products from across the industry on show.
As eventgoers look to the future, industry experts will be analysing how the likes of artificial intelligence, digitalisation, robotics, and blockchain will transform food and beverage manufacturing in the coming years.
The programme at the Foodtech summit running November 7 and 8 alongside Gulfood Manufacturing will also explore future food security and how the industry can innovate and create alternative food supply chains and resources.
More than 35,000 industry players are expected to visit Gulfood Manufacturing over the coming days.
“Much like any other industry, technology is making itself felt in the food and beverage manufacturing sector. Innovative breakthroughs are being unveiled which will lead to the food industry becoming ever more efficient, sustainable, responsible and competitive,” explained Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Exhibitions & Events Management, DWTC.
DWTC is looking to further push the innovation agenda with its Gulfood Manufacturing Industry Excellence Awards, which this year takes a futuristic and innovative approach. Open to show exhibitors, 10 awards will reward and recognise innovation across the entire industry eco-system from ingredients, to technology, waste prevention to customer service, packaging and marketing. The awards are decided following assessments by a panel of independent judges.
