Hoa Phat Phu Tho Poultry will open a new state-of-the-art hatchery in Phú Thọ province in the north of the country.
Vietnamese poultry processor Hoa Phat Phu Tho Poultry will open a new state-of-the-art hatchery in Phú Thọ province in the north of the country. The firm has collaborated with Dutch hatchery equipment supplier Pas Reform as it aims to bring its capacity to 1.5 million Hy-Line brown chicks per year.
The installation will incorporate a range of Pas Reform equipment, including a SmartHeat incubator for short periods of heat treatment during egg storage; four SmartSetPro-3 setters, each with a capacity of 57,600 hen eggs; two SmartSetPro-1 setters, each with a capacity of 19,200 hen eggs; and seven SmartHatchPro hatchers, each with a capacity of 19,200 hen eggs.
Pas Reform will also supply and install climate control and hatchery automation systems for the project.
Hoa Phat Poultry is a subsidiary of Vietnamese steelmaker Hoa Phat Group. Founded in 1992 to sell construction machinery, it has gradually expanded into other fields, including agriculture.
According to director of Hoa Phat Poultry, Le Tuan Anh, expansion into the agricultural sector is part of the group’s long-term strategy of business diversification.
Its poultry sector strategy is to provide over 300 million consumption eggs per year to the market from 2020.
