PepsiCo has announced a $1 million donation to the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA) to continue the PepsiCo Nutrition in Action (NiA), aiming to improve and enhance the health and nutrition awareness of underserved school children in southwest China.
Give2Asia, a non-profit organization, will administer the grant. To further support the NiA program, PepsiCo has pledged to donate 20,000 servings of its new Quaker Kids Nutrition products – Kids Oats Meal and Kids Oats Biscuits, which will be launched in the near term.
This $1 million grant by PepsiCo is being made to provide more than 1.7 million nutritious meals benefiting approximately 10,000 students in about 50 schools over the next three years. The grant is also being made to help conduct various interactive educational activities on nutrition and health knowledge sharing through setting up nutritional corners in the project schools, providing nutrition-related education and delivering nutrition education materials.
To further demonstrate the company’s support of primary students’ nutrition in poverty-stricken areas, PepsiCo pledged to donate 20,000 servings of Quaker Kids Nutrition products to support nutrition improvement activities for children in the poverty-stricken areas. The Quaker Kids Nutrition products – Kids Oats Meal and Kids Oats Biscuits, are specially developed for children between six and 12 years old in strict accordance with PepsiCo’s nutrition standards and are rich in fiber, calcium and iron. These new product series will be launched via Chinese e-commerce channels in early August.
