Thailand took the initiative when the National Save Food Network was established in September, 2014 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the FAO, and a number of other concerned partners.

Save Food, which was first held in Berlin in 2001, will be part of Pack Print International 2017, the sixth International Packaging and Printing Exhibition for Asia, which will be held from September 20 to 23 at Bitec, Bangkok.

Rabi Rasaily, a consultant on the Save Food project, said it would help people learn about food loss, waste reduction and innovative packaging solutions.

With better technology, processes and market awareness, public, private and civil society can make significant impacts towards the cause of food loss and waste reduction.

Rasaily said the Thai government and FAO were planning to work together on raising public awareness about food loss and waste reduction from next year.
