As a result, four innovative food products have been developed: Frankincense Tea, Yoghurt, Coconut Juice, and Frankincense Coffee

OQ Base Industries (OQBI) has financed five industrial projects in Dhofar Governorate as part of the Innovative Food Products Development Project, in cooperation with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), according to the Oman News Agency (ONA).

The initiative is implemented through Madayn’s Industrial Innovation Academy and aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which prioritises industrial innovation, support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and the enhancement of local value-added across key sectors.

The project has benefited five SMEs from Dhofar Governorate, strengthening their capacity to develop competitive food products and expand their presence in local and regional markets. The initiative also underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in empowering entrepreneurs and fostering sustainable industrial growth.

ONA reported that the programme provides a comprehensive package of technical, technological, and consultancy support through Dhofar Laboratories. This includes product assessment, recipe and process improvement, research and development planning, quality enhancement, food safety testing, brand development, and packaging design.

As a result, four innovative food products have been developed: Frankincense Tea, Yoghurt, Coconut Juice, and Frankincense Coffee. In addition, Dhofar Laboratories continues to support enterprises in improving product quality and sustaining innovation, with a focus on delivering high-value food products capable of competing in regional markets.
