The Sherry Cask-Finished Bourbon Whiskey is the third quarterly release of the society subscription membership

World Whiskey Society (WWS), known for scouring the globe to create the world’s most interesting whiskeys, announces the third edition of the quarterly Society Subscription release, an elegant 12-Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Amontillado Barrels. New and existing Society Subscription members will receive this exclusive release delivered directly to their door.

“We are excited to announce the third quarterly Society Subscription release: a 12-Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Amontillado Barrels to new and existing members,” says Alex Kogan, Founder of World Whiskey Society. “Members of the Society Subscription are gifted some of the most distinctive and exclusive whiskeys available, and this release is a perfect example of what we can offer.” This 12-year-old Kentucky bourbon, finished in Amontillado sherry casks, offers a rich and layered experience, opening with a medley of dried fruits, including apricots and golden raisins, and a hint of rum-soaked plum, all interwoven with the nutty aroma of toasted almonds and bold oak spice. On the palate, it’s luxuriously smooth, with evolving notes of rum raisin bread, caramelised brown sugar, and a soft Amontillado sherry richness. A pronounced sweet nuttiness emerges mid-palate, evoking peanut brittle and a whisper of sherry cream. The finish is long and warming, with lingering sherry sweetness, gentle toasted nuts, and a final touch of spiced vanilla and tobacco.
