Coca-Cola FEMSA, the world’s largest Coca-Cola franchise bottler by sales volume, announced a 600 million reais ($110 million) investment to expand its flagship Mogi das Cruzes facility in São Paulo state.
The expansion will add two state-of-the-art soft drink production lines, with construction scheduled for completion between October and December and commercial operations beginning in January 2026. The move is expected to create new jobs, integrate advanced manufacturing technologies, and enhance the plant’s role as a strategic hub within the Coca-Cola System in Brazil.
“This facility plays a vital role not only for Coca-Cola FEMSA but for the entire Coca-Cola System in Brazil,” said Mario Cesar Schafaschek, Supply Chain Director at Coca-Cola FEMSA. “The new lines will deliver significant efficiency gains in resource use, reinforcing our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and value creation for our partners, customers, and community.”
Mayor Mara Bertaiolli welcomed the investment, noting its economic significance for the region. “Coca-Cola is back in Mogi. We’ll see sustainable production, new jobs, and renewed industrial vitality. This is only the beginning of our partnership,” she said.
The Mogi das Cruzes plant is Coca-Cola FEMSA’s most strategic production facility in Brazil, part of a broader capital investment program outlined in the company’s 2024 annual report. That plan includes the installation of nine new production lines across Latin America — four in Brazil, one in Mexico, two in Guatemala, and one in Costa Rica.
Earlier this year, the company invested 22.41 billion pesos ($45 million) to expand its Calle Blancos plant in Costa Rica, increasing capacity, upgrading warehousing, and boosting exports to markets including Nicaragua and Panama.
With 11 plants and 49 distribution centers in Brazil, Coca-Cola FEMSA continues to strengthen its operational footprint and support sustainable growth in key Latin American markets.
