dsm-firmenich and United Nations World Food Programme expand partnership

This renewed partnership marks the next chapter in our fight against malnutrition

dsm-firmenich, innovators in nutrition, health, and beauty, and the UN World Food Programme (WFP), the largest humanitarian organisation addressing hunger, have expanded their strategic partnership to fight malnutrition, renewing it for three years through 2027. The collaboration now aims to support over 60 million vulnerable people with access to essential vitamins and minerals crucial for health and well-being through nutrient-fortified food.

Dimitri de Vreeze, CEO dsm-firmenich, commented: “This renewed partnership marks the next chapter in our fight against malnutrition. By intensifying our focus on scale, quality, and innovation, we are committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of millions.”

Cindy McCain, Executive Director WFP, added: “After almost twenty years of partnership, which last year enabled us to support 38 million people with better nutrition and improved diets, we’re aiming even higher as we renew our collaboration. In today’s complex and fragile world, the DSM–Firmenich–WFP partnership is an inspiring force for good in the struggle to end hunger and malnutrition.”

The partnership combines dsm-firmenich’s cutting-edge nutritional science with WFP’s unparalleled global humanitarian reach and ability to deliver life-changing food and nutrition support to millions in crisis-affected and food-insecure regions. Together, the organisations help expand global access to staples, like rice and flour, which are fortified with essential micronutrients. These fortified staples are then distributed globally by the WFP and other humanitarian organisations. The renewal and expansion of the partnership, which has been ongoing for 18 years, will intensify the fight against malnutrition around the world.
