Wada FoodTech raises $5Mn to scale up hot-chain decentralised foodservice platform

The investment will fuel the expansion of its decentralised foodservice platform in Japan and other premium markets

Wada FoodTech, a pioneering hot-chain decentralised foodservice platform, has secured $5 million in a Pre-A3 funding round, co-led by MindWorks ETEC Fund and Golden Resources Development International Limited (HKG:0677). This brings Wada FoodTech’s total funding to over $10 million, accelerating its mission to transform the foodservice industry with patented hot-chain technology. The investment will fuel the expansion of its decentralised foodservice platform in Japan and other premium markets, enabling restaurants to overcome challenges such as high establishment costs, labour shortages, and food safety concerns.

Wada FoodTech transforms traditional brick-and-mortar foodservice with its hot-chain foodtech ecosystem, including AIoT-enabled hot-chain logistics and hot-chain bento machines. Now in its 6th generation, the patented technology has already facilitated the sale of over 1 million hot bento. Originally launched in Hong Kong, Wada FoodTech has expanded to Tokyo, Osaka, Perth, and Macau, with imminent launches in the UK and EU.

With Wada FoodTech’s platform, restaurants can expand sales channels effortlessly, deploying hot-chain bento machines in high-traffic locations like office lobbies, universities, hospitals, and construction sites—without the costs of opening new branches or relying on traditional food delivery. The company holds over 10 patents in Japan, the US, and China, ensuring food safety and efficiency.

For consumers, the platform delivers hot, fresh bento in just 9 seconds from vending machines, eliminating extra fees from traditional food delivery apps. Food safety and quality are guaranteed through temperature control maintained throughout the logistics chain.
