A Thai-Vietnamese Cultural Food Street has been launched in Nakhon Phanom province, located over 700 km northeast of Bangkok, Thailand.
The opening ceremony was a collaborative effort between the Thai-Vietnamese Association in Nakhon Phanom and local authorities. It was attended by Governor Pratya Unphetwarakon, the Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen, Dinh Hoang Linh, and hundreds of overseas Vietnamese.
Visitors can sample a variety of authentic cuisines, including grilled pork rolls, steaming bowls of pho, Lao chicken noodle soup, and spicy Thai street food. Alongside these culinary offerings, there are community-run souvenir stalls, traditional games, and cultural performances that showcase the heritage and shared spirit of both nations.
Governor Pratya emphasised the food street’s potential to stimulate the local economy and attract tourists. He noted that, alongside significant landmarks such as the Ho Chi Minh Memorial and the Thai-Vietnamese Cultural Street Gate, this new culinary destination further strengthens ties with Vietnamese communities.
Consul General Linh described the initiative as an important cultural milestone that reinforces Vietnam- Thailand relations. He emphasized that the Enhanced Strategic Partnership between the two countries serves as a strong foundation for fostering cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
Nguyen Ngoc Thin, President of the Vietnamese Association in Thailand, expressed his support for the project, recognising it as a significant step forward in enhancing cooperation between Thai authorities and the Vietnamese community. ity.
