Kingdom’s egg production not only meets domestic demand but also generates a surplus
Saudi Arabia’s poultry sector has achieved complete self-sufficiency in table egg production, with output expected to exceed 8 billion eggs by 2024, according to the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. The ministry noted that the Kingdom’s egg production not only meets domestic demand but also generates a surplus, thereby reinforcing national food security.
Eggs are a key dietary staple, widely used in daily meals and various culinary preparations. To support this growth and encourage investment in the poultry sector, the ministry has implemented several strategies, including providing incentives for new projects, expanding existing farms, and creating job opportunities for nationals.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to improving food quality, safety, and availability in local markets.
