The survey aims to collect current and accurate data on individual food consumption rates across different regions in the Emirate, including Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has initiated a thorough field survey to assess food consumption rates and patterns across Abu Dhabi. This project is being conducted in partnership with the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD).
According to Emirates News Agency, the primary objective of this research project is to promote healthier dietary choices and encourage responsible food consumption behaviours among consumers in the Emirate. It is part of ADAFSA’s efforts to address improper food practices and contributes to the overall well-being of Abu Dhabi’s community, in line with its broader goals of supporting sustainable development, ensuring food security, promoting agricultural and food investment, and enhancing the resilience of society.
The survey aims to collect current and accurate data on individual food consumption rates across different regions in the Emirate, including Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra. It will identify the types and quantities of food consumed, analyse consumption behaviours, and determine the environmental, social, demographic, and cognitive factors influencing these behaviours.
