Kuwaiti allocates $591Mn to food support

Additionally, 6.927 million dinars have been earmarked for milk and baby food, representing 3.8 per cent of the support

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has allocated a significant amount of 181 million ($591 million) Kuwaiti dinars to support essential food. This support is divided into key categories, including 67 million dinars for basic materials, which makes up 37 per cent of the total support. Additionally, 6.927 million dinars have been earmarked for milk and baby food, representing 3.8 per cent of the support, and 107 million dinars for construction materials, constituting 59 per cent of the total support.

According to the Arab Times, in June alone, the ministry dedicated 34 million dinars to food support. Out of this, approximately 16 million dinars (46 per cent) were directed towards basic materials through ration cards, showing a slight 1 per cent decrease from May. Support for milk and baby food reached about 2 million dinars, accounting for 5 per cent of the monthly support and reflecting a significant 53 per cent increase from the previous month. For construction materials, around 16 million dinars were allocated in June, making up 49 per cent of the total monthly support and showing a 2 per cent increase compared to May.
