The Mazayna Dates competition is one of the highlights, where the best dates will be showcased and rewarded
The Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival, organised by the Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD), is back for its eighth edition. This cultural and agricultural event will span four days, from July 27 to July 30, 2023, at the Emirates Hospitality Hall in the Emirate of Ajman.
ADTD has worked closely with 350 participants to prepare an extraordinary program for attendees. From July 27, the festival will feature numerous workshops and activities, including Juffair decoration, decoupage on gypsum, and performances by the renowned Shaer band. The festival will also showcase the popular show ‘Medley,’ the Al-Madis Workshop, and others like the palm grove and wicker dyeing workshop, palm frond painting, Al-Basaal, and rope-breaking. Each day will culminate with a charity auction and the results of the Mazayna Dates competition.
Throughout the festival’s four days, various competitions will take place, offering prizes worth 388,000 dirhams. The Mazayna Dates competition is one of the highlights, where the best dates will be showcased and rewarded. Contestants from the Emirate of Ajman can submit Youman, Khashari, Al Shishi, and Khalas dates, while those from other emirates can submit Al Nukhba, Fard, Al Burji, Khunaizi, Al Shishi, Khalas, and Lulu. Other competitions include citrus competitions for lemons, oranges, mangoes, and local citrus fruits, as well as honey competitions for Sidr, Samar, liquid, and crystallised honey.
