1 “Maximum Residue Limits Established for Pesticides and Veterinary Drugs Previously Not Allowed In Food”, SFA has reviewed and established additional maximum residue limits (MRLs) for veterinary drug residues in food.
2 SFA has conducted risk assessments to ensure that the consumption of food containing veterinary drug residues at levels below the new MRLs is safe. The new MRLs are trade facilitative and are in line with the relevant Codex standards or regulatory standards of major developed countries.
3 SFA will administer the new MRLs for the specified veterinary drugs in food commodities with effect from 17 January 2022. All traders are reminded to ensure that food products made available for sale on or after 17 January 2022 comply with the MRLs.
4 The complete list of MRLs for veterinary drug residues in food is available on SFA’s website: https://www.sfa.gov.sg/regulatory-limits
