Morinaga Milk Industry Co.Ltd a leading Japanese dairy product company, on 11 June 2019, announced its own probiotic. Morinaga Bifidobacterium longum BB536 has received GRAS confirmation (Generally Recognized as Safe) for infant formula, in honour of the 50-year anniversary.

Bifidobacterium longum BB536, a clinically proven multifunctional probiotic strain from the gut of a healthy breastfeed baby in 1969, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its discovery in 2019.
