Cargill has collaborated with startup accelerator network Techstars, and water, hygiene, and energy technology provider Ecolab to launch a new initiative to identify and support entrepreneurs and startups that offer unique concepts and products involving agriculture, food-oriented digital technology, food processing and food safety.
The Techstars Farm to Fork Accelerator will be based in Minneapolis–Saint Paul. Firms selected by the partnership to participate will be invited to join a three-month mentorship and accelerator program overseen by Ecolab, Cargill, and Techstars.
Hundreds of applicants are expected to seek admission to the program, with thirty firms selected over the next three years.
Those taking part in the accelerator program will benefit from Ecolab’s food processing and food safety expertise and Cargill’s leading position in agriculture and food production.
Both Ecolab and Cargill are well positioned to help farm-to-fork entrepreneurs understand and address changing food trends.
