Leading Korea food company Lotte Food Pasteur plans to introduce a new sheep milk product line for children, expecting to launch in 2019.

Lotte Foods Co., Ltd. recently announced that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been successfully signed with innovative sheep milk nutrition company, Spring Sheep Milk Co.

Leading Korea food company Lotte Food Pasteur plans to introduce a new sheep milk product line for children, expecting to launch in 2019. Long term plans are in development to expand into China with infant formula and early life nutrition products in 2020.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Managing Director of Pasteur Operations at Lotte Foods, YongKi Kim, Spring Sheep CEO, Scottie Chapman, General Manager – Sales, Shane Topp and New Zealand Trade Commissioner, Jack Stenhouse.

Sheep milk contains up to 60% more calcium and 50% more protein than cow’s milk. It’s naturally richer in many essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids; and its unique protein and fat structure allows for easier digestion and absorption. Consumers that suffer from cow’s milk intolerance and sensitivity symptoms may also find that sheep’s milk is gentler on the stomach. While sheep milk delivers nutrition, digestibility and taste benefits, early studies also indicate that sheep dairy operations are gentler on the environment with lower methane emissions and less nitrogen impact.
