Chick-fil-A, Inc. has awarded a total of $1 million in hunger relief grants to 22 nonprofit organisations across 14 cities this fall, as part of its efforts to address food insecurity affecting millions of people across the United States.
The grants are aimed at supporting local nonprofits working on the front lines of hunger relief by helping provide fresh meals, stock food pantries and care for individuals and families in need. Chick-fil-A said the initiative reflects its focus on community-based support, with locally owned restaurants playing a key role in recognising and assisting partners in their regions.
In Miami, Feeding South Florida received a $100,000 grant to support its hunger-fighting efforts. Local Chick-fil-A Owner-Operators surprised representatives of the nonprofit with the grant during the University of Miami’s final home football game of the season. The support continued through Give Miami Day, one of the largest annual giving events in the US, during which Chick-fil-A South Florida restaurants collectively contributed $75,000 to benefit local nonprofits, including Feeding South Florida and Caring for Miami. Team Members also participated in the Give Miami Day 5K to support the cause.
In Boston, nonprofit partners received a combined $100,000 in grants. At the reopening of Chick-fil-A Copley Square, Boston Rescue Mission was awarded a $50,000 grant through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table programme in recognition of its work supporting people experiencing homelessness. Another $50,000 grant was presented to The Greater Boston Food Bank after local Owner-Operators and Team Members volunteered to prepare holiday meal kits.
In Chicago, the Northern Illinois Food Bank and the Greater Chicago Food Depository each received $25,000 grants. Local Owner-Operators visited both organisations to present the donations and thank staff for their work serving the community.
Chick-fil-A said the grants are part of its broader commitment to supporting hunger relief efforts nationwide through local partnerships and community engagement.
