The agreement was signed between Tanmiah Food Company, a leading Saudi food company, and Brazil’s Vibra Agroindustrial S.A
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing food security and self-sufficiency in poultry production in Saudi Arabia. The agreement was signed at the Ministry’s headquarters, with the sponsorship of Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen AlFadley, Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. The event was attended by Amr Al-Dabbagh, Chairman of the Board of Tanmiah Food Company.
The agreement was signed between Tanmiah Food Company, a leading Saudi food company, and Brazil’s Vibra Agroindustrial S.A., a company specialising in poultry production and processing. This partnership aims to boost self-sufficiency in poultry meat and products and enhance the Kingdom’s food security, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Under this agreement, over $150 million will be invested, with Vibra contributing to Tanmiah Food Company’s further processing business to expand production capacity using locally sourced chicken. The deal also includes joint investments in primary processing operations in Brazil to improve operational efficiency and strengthen their role in the global poultry supply chain.
The Ministry stated that the first phase of the agreement will see Vibra investing in the development of an on-farm poultry processing facility in Saudi Arabia, aimed at expanding poultry production and processing using local chicken. In the second phase, both parties will explore the acquisition of assets in a Brazilian poultry processing facility.
This partnership seeks to enhance processing capabilities for both poultry and beef, improve supply chain efficiency, and strengthen international collaborations in the agri-food sector. It also supports the Kingdom’s efforts to bolster food security and increase self-sufficiency in poultry meat and products.
