This expansion will allow Beerfarm to supply its beers throughout the East Coast and increase overall production by 30 per cent
Independent craft brewery Beerfarm from Western Australia is set to begin work on a new brewery and taphouse in Glenworth Valley, located on the NSW Central Coast. This expansion will allow Beerfarm to supply its beers throughout the East Coast and increase overall production by 30 per cent.
The project follows the approval of the Development Application for the site, with plans for a brewery capable of producing two million litres of beer per year. The construction will be divided into two phases: Phase One will begin in early 2025, with brewing expected to start by mid-year. Phase Two will focus on developing the venue, which is slated to commence in the latter half of 2025, with the goal of opening to the public around mid-2026.
Ian Atkins, Co-Founder and Director of Beerfarm, expressed enthusiasm about the Glenworth Valley expansion, stating, “Beerfarm is excited to contribute positively to the local social and business community. The project’s design, construction, and operations will create opportunities for local suppliers and workers, fostering collaboration and economic growth.”
Atkins added, “Our goal is to support Glenworth Valley’s development as a premier destination for day-trippers from the Central Coast, Newcastle, Sydney, and beyond, further cementing its reputation as an exciting location for visitors.”
Beerfarm aims to replicate the success of its Metricup venue in Margaret River, which has become a leading brewery and hospitality destination since its opening in 2015. According to Destination NSW, the Central Coast welcomed 5.2 million visitors in 2024, with tourism spending reaching $1.4 billion. The new site is expected to employ approximately 40 to 50 people and hopes to become a hub for locals and tourists.
