The agreement covers the initial areas of cooperation for dairy production and manufacturing in Egypt
Baladna Q.P.S.C. and the Suez Canal Authority have signed a memorandum of cooperation to enhance collaboration in the area of food security. As per the agreement, the two parties will explore the development of a cattle farm that can house 20,000 dairy cows and increase dairy production. Additionally, they will cultivate a 113,000-hectare area in the New Valley Governorate “El Wadi El Gedid” to cater to the project’s needs for feed and agricultural products. These products will be used for local consumption and export purposes.
A signing ceremony was held in Cairo, attended by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of Egypt, and key representatives from Baladna, including members of the Board of Directors and the Executive Management.
The agreement covers the initial areas of cooperation for dairy production and manufacturing in Egypt, with an investment volume of up to $1.5 billion. It includes the development of a cattle farm with an initial capacity of 20,000 dairy cows, to produce an annual capacity of 300 million litres of fresh milk. Furthermore, it outlines the cultivation of 113,000 hectares of land in the New Valley Governorate “El Wadi El Gedid”, to supply the necessary fodder and agricultural products to meet the project’s requirements, both for local use and export.
