Jahez, the leading online ordering platform that connects customers to their favourite stores, has officially launched Kuwait’s first food innovation hackathon, in strategic partnership with the Kuwait Innovation Centre. This joint launch of the nationwide hackathon program represents a significant step toward empowering young minds and fostering innovation in Kuwait’s food sector, in line with the broader goals of Kuwait Vision 2035.

Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding on June 25, 2025, Jahez and the Kuwait Innovation Hub launched a seven-stage program designed to move participants from ideation to implementation. The hackathon is open to youth, students, developers, and creative thinkers across Kuwait, who are invited to submit transformative ideas that address real-world challenges in the food delivery sector using artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

Registration for the hackathon officially opens on July 13, and applications are still being accepted. Selected participants will be announced during the official selection phase, during which teams will be paired and prepared for an intensive 3-day bootcamp from August 6-8 at the Kuwait Innovation Centre. The bootcamp will include skill-building workshops covering AI concepts, Figma interface design, business modelling, and innovation frameworks. Participants will also gain practical insights into the processes and technologies used by the Jahez app, enabling them to align their solutions with real-world industry needs.

The finalists will present their prototypes and business plans to a panel of experts during a live pitch presentation. An awards ceremony will be held on August 16 at the Andalus Hall, marking the program’s conclusion. The three winning teams will receive cash and recognition prizes for their innovations, starting with KWD 3,000 for first place, KWD 2,000 for second place, and KWD 1,000 for third place. The winning ideas will receive support, incubation, and mentorship, with the opportunity to implement their ideas at Jahez, ensuring long-term impact and opportunities for continued growth after the event.

Commenting on the launch, Abdulrahman Redha, Head of Marketing at Jahez, said: “This hackathon is a celebration of youth, innovation, and the entrepreneurial spirit in Kuwait. In partnership with KIC, we are proud to create a platform that empowers aspiring minds to reimagine the future of food delivery, develop bold solutions, and receive the support they need to bring these ideas to life .”
