The Sri Lankan Health and Nutrition Ministry recently announced that it would adopt the colour scheme that was adopted to categorise the sweetened drinks to solid foods as well.
The decision was taken after taking into consideration the fact that a large number of people were becoming sick after consuming too much of sugar, salt and oil.
In 2017, the colour scheme was introduced to categorise the sweetened drinks with a view to minimising the number of people becoming diabetic after consuming sugar based drinks.
