UAE’s Silal and Shouguang Vegetable announce strategic partnership

The partnership aims to foster innovation, boost production efficiency, and enhance the UAE’s agricultural product supply capacity

Silal, Abu Dhabi’s leading agri-food and technology company, has partnered with Shouguang Vegetable Industry Group, a prominent Chinese enterprise specialising in vegetable seed breeding and counter-seasonal vegetable production. The partnership aims to foster innovation, boost production efficiency, and enhance the UAE’s agricultural product supply capacity.

The agreement was signed during Abu Dhabi’s Global Food Week by Silal’s CEO, Salmeen Al Ameri, and Ming Yang, Founder of Shouguang Food and Agricultural Industries Group. The signing was attended by Dr Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and Saeed Al Bahri Al Ameri, Director-General of ADAFSA.

Key elements of the collaboration include a seed development program and the creation of a greenhouse demonstration park based on the innovative ‘Shouguang Model.’ This facility will showcase advanced greenhouse technologies, seedling cultivation, grafting, pollination, and plantation management practices, benefiting farmers across the UAE and the region.

This initiative underscores both organisations’ commitment to advancing agri-tech innovation and sustainable growth. It aligns with Silal’s goals of driving agricultural innovation, investing in cutting-edge technologies, and developing tailored agri-tech solutions for UAE farms.
