Safe Food Alliance is stepping up its commitment to food safety and quality with several innovative initiatives in 2024.
In October Safe Food Certifications was accredited by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) as one of only two certifying agents in California authorised to conduct Distributor Operations Compliance Audits.
DFA of California and Safe Food Alliance announced Brendan O’Donnell as the new President and CEO, effective August 1, 2024. With over 20 years of leadership in the food and agriculture sector, O’Donnell is known for driving innovation, ensuring food safety, and championing sustainable practices.
In July, The organisation bid farewell to its long-serving President and CEO, Vaughn Koligian, who retired after years of dedicated service. Koligian’s tenure was characterized by resilience, stability, and strong leadership.
In March, Safe Food Alliance launched an educational YouTube series titled “HACCP 101: Intro to Biological Hazards.” Led by Food Safety Expert Tom Jones, the series aims to educate food producers on identifying and managing biological hazards—one of the most critical components of any HACCP plan.
