Florida bans sale of lab-grown meat

New bill aims to protect the agriculture industry from ideological attacks that blame ranchers for climate change

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida signed a new bill into law that prohibits the sale of lab-grown meat in the state. He stated that this decision was made to support and promote a “vibrant agriculture industry.” During a press conference, DeSantis explained that this new bill is different from previous legislation he has signed, as it aims to protect the agriculture industry from “ideological” attacks that blame ranchers for climate change. According to the local media, the governor criticised those who advocate for climate change initiatives and restrictions on everyday people’s freedoms while they continue to live extravagant lifestyles.

“He said that the purpose behind the lab-grown meat is not to compete with normal beef, as they know they would lose in such a competition. Instead, they aim to introduce lab-grown meat as an alternative and prove that it can be produced without relying on cattle farming. The ultimate goal is to phase out the traditional meat industry. Although they are not ready to execute this plan yet, it is important to think ahead and address potential threats to the industry, as good stewards of the state and public well-being.”

DeSantis further explained that the (World Economic Forum) WEF aims to eliminate meat, cattle, and chickens, and replace them with lab-created meat. This fake meat is designed to be produced in laboratories, rather than through traditional farming methods that have been used for centuries in Florida. The Governor also dismissed the notion that the WEF simply wants to introduce lab-created meat to the market and let the free market decide its fate, stating that their goal is to eliminate traditional meat production.
