The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has launched the Food Tech Valley, a project aimed at transforming the country into a global hub for agriculture and food technology.

Ahmed Al Shaibani, Project Head, of Food Tech Valley said, “Through Food Tech Valley our goal is to empower farmers, academics, business owners, and entrepreneurs to address global food security challenges and pioneer sustainable food production. Launched in 2021 by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, the Food Tech Valley aims to be a hub for cleantech-based food and agricultural products, as well as an incubator for researchers, entrepreneurs, start-ups, and industry experts.”

“The project has created awareness within the food and agriculture sector through exhibitions and partnerships with companies such as PepsiCo and FlyDubai. The Food Tech Valley is made up of different zones covering all aspects of the food value chain, and construction is nearing completion. The project has attracted the attention of many countries and can strengthen food security in the West Asian and North African region” informed Shaibani.
