As families prepare to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, Yung Kee presents its “Indulging in Moonlit Delights, Embracing the Joy of Reunion” mooncake collection, an exquisite range that celebrates tradition while embracing modern tastes. The limited-edition series, created in collaboration with contemporary dining brand Yung’s Bistro, pays tribute to the cherished festival of reunion with a symphony of classic and innovative flavours.
At the heart of this year’s collection are the highly anticipated Mini Lava Custard Mooncakes. Featuring premium salted egg yolks that are steamed, finely mashed, and blended into a smooth, velvety custard, these mooncakes offer an indulgent yet lighter experience. The pastry is crafted with Japanese flour and New Zealand butter, balanced with low-calorie palatinose and Japanese seaweed sugar for a delicate sweetness.
Yung Kee also showcases its timeless classics, steeped in tradition. The Double Yolk Lotus Seed Paste Mooncake uses premium Xiang lotus seeds slow-cooked for hours with pure cane sugar to achieve a silky, aromatic paste paired with top-grade salted egg yolks for a rich, lingering flavour. Meanwhile, the Mixed Nuts with Chinese Ham Mooncake, made from walnuts, almonds, sesame seeds, melon seeds, cashews, and savoury Jinhua ham, delivers a textured, layered taste rooted in heritage recipes.
For nearly eight decades, Yung Kee has been synonymous with Hong Kong’s culinary excellence, and this Mid-Autumn Festival collection underscores its commitment to preserving heritage while innovating for modern palates. With gift boxes designed for sharing and gifting, the Moonlit Delights collection invites families and friends to come together under the full moon, celebrating unity, tradition, and the joy of reunion.
