Grower-owned almond processor and marketer Almondco Australia has been named among five businesses to be inducted into the Australian Export Awards Hall of Fame in 2026, recognising its sustained contribution to Australian exports and its growing presence in international food markets.
Almondco Australia will join PWR Advanced Cooling Technology, ResMed, SunRice Group and UOW Global Enterprises as the latest Hall of Fame inductees. The businesses represent a diverse range of Australian capabilities across agriculture, advanced manufacturing, health technology, food and education.
Headquartered in Renmark, South Australia, Almondco Australia represents more than 85 per cent of the country’s almond growers. The cooperative processes and markets premium, food-safe almond products for customers across international markets.
Exports accounted for more than 69.5 per cent of Almondco Australia’s sales in 2024, highlighting the importance of overseas markets to its business. Its export destinations include China, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, India and Vietnam.
The company operates a processing facility along with hulling and shelling operations in South Australia’s Riverland and the Riverina region of New South Wales. Its grower-owned model enables it to combine almond production with processing and marketing capabilities for global customers.
The Australian Export Awards, presented by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), is Australia’s longest-running export awards programme. The awards recognise Australian exporters and their contribution to the country’s economy and international reputation.
Established in 2002, the Hall of Fame recognises exporters that have won the same or a similar national category in three separate years or five times across all categories.
Austrade Deputy CEO Dan Boyer said the 2026 inductees represented sustained excellence, innovation and global ambition, while contributing to Australia’s export community and international reputation.
For Almondco Australia, the recognition highlights the role of Australian agricultural and food-processing businesses in taking locally produced products and expertise to global markets.
