OneAgrix, the trade infrastructure company that determines whether Halal, Kosher and Vegan food products are eligible to enter destination markets worldwide, has filed an international patent application under the Patent Cooperation Treaty through the World Intellectual Property Organization. The application builds on United States filings that established priority in 2025, and preserves OneAgrix’s right to seek patent protection in more than 150 contracting states.
Getting a values-governed food product into a market means satisfying rules that differ by destination and change without notice. A shipment can be turned away at the border because the certification body is not recognised there, because an ingredient does not clear under the applicable Halal, Kosher or Vegan rules, or because the packaging does not meet local requirements.
Enterprise trade tools increasingly apply artificial intelligence to this problem. Language models can produce confidently wrong answers, and a compliance decision that cannot be explained carries financial and legal consequences for exporters and regulators alike.
OneAgrix removed that risk at the design stage. The compliance determination is strictly rule-based, applying explicit regulatory data so that every verdict can be audited line by line and traced back to its official source. Artificial intelligence operates only in a separate analysis layer, providing context and commentary grounded in those verified determinations.
The approach reflects the direction of AI governance worldwide. Frameworks from the European Union’s AI Act to the OECD AI Principles converge on the same expectation that consequential decisions be transparent, traceable and accountable to people.
OneAgrix currently maps 94 Halal certification bodies across 20 destination markets and carries ingredient rulings across all four Sunni schools of jurisprudence for more than 400 ingredients.
