New 110-kg palletizing robot combines high-speed performance with a compact design as Kawasaki showcases flexible packaging and end-of-line automation...

Kawasaki Robotics (USA), Inc. will launch its new CP110L high-speed palletizing robot in North America at PACK EXPO International 2026, Oct. 18–21 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Designed for packaging, consumer packaged goods and end-of-line automation, the CP110L combines a 110-kg payload with a compact design intended for production environments where floor space and ceiling height are limited.

The launch comes as packaging manufacturers continue to increase their investment in robotics. According to PMMI's 2026 Robotics in Packaging & Processing report, 61 per cent of end users surveyed expect to increase their investment in robotics over the next 12 months. Against that backdrop, the CP110L was developed to address several practical considerations manufacturers face when adding palletizing automation, including available floor space, ceiling height, throughput and system integration.

The CP110L can handle up to 2,200 cases per hour under specified operating conditions and provides a maximum reach of 2,505 mm. Its compact architecture requires a ceiling height of 2,242 mm and has a revolute-axis interference radius of 453 mm, helping manufacturers and system integrators design palletizing cells for space-constrained production environments.

The robot also features a hollow wrist that allows cables and hoses to be routed internally, helping reduce interference with surrounding equipment while simplifying installation and maintenance. A standard power-regeneration function converts energy generated during robot deceleration into reusable electrical energy, an advantage in palletizing applications with frequent vertical movement.

"Palletizing is often one of the clearest places for manufacturers to automate, but the available space at the end of the line doesn't always match the automation they want to install," said Paul Marcovecchio, Director GI Industries, Kawasaki Robotics (USA), Inc. "The CP110L was developed around that reality. It gives customers another way to increase palletizing capacity without assuming they have unlimited floor space or ceiling height."
