Australia based Huon Aquaculture has taken Champion Seafood Trophy

Huon Salmon – rated best seafood at the 2021 Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards

Huon Aquaculture has taken out the Champion Seafood Trophy at the 2021 Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards, with five products awarded Gold and a further four products gaining a Silver award.

With a score of 99/100, Huon’s Reserve Signature Cold Smoked Salmon Loin, received the Champion Seafood Trophy with judges describing it as an “excelled product, balanced, well-rounded”.

The Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards is one of the most respected and longest running food awards in Australia, and Huon’s unique products were clearly a favourite with the judges.

Co-founder of the innovative Tasmanian majority-family owned company, Frances Bender, said that the whole team was thrilled to, again, be recognised for its quality products amidst a world class field.

“We submitted nine products for judging, and every product gained either a Gold or Silver award.

Frances said that Huon’s products were assessed among 44 seafood entries.

“We strive to do our best and produce premium quality salmon for customers around the globe, and we are able to do that because of a genuine love and belief in the product,” she said.

In 2010, Huon’s Cold Smoked Salmon collected an unmatched perfect 100 points winning the Champion Product in Show at the same awards.

“We are extremely proud that our locally produced products are considered of such high grade by so many local, national and international judges,” Frances said.

The awards come as a testament to Huon’s commitment to using stress free, sustainable methods of production that see their salmon raised to mirror the natural life of salmon in the wild.

Mrs Bender said that Huon applies the same farming dedication across its entire product range.

“Huon’s award-winning products are healthy, delicious and can easily be incorporated into quick mid-week meals, providing your weekly dose of vitamins and omega-3s!

“We are not the biggest producer but we maintain that with our dedication to quality and fine produce, we are one of the best and these awards mirror this sentiment,” finished Frances.
