Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Corporation (Vinamilk) has been awarded the Labor Hero title for the second time as the Vietnamese dairy major marked its 50th anniversary on July 23, 2026, in Hanoi.
The recognition acknowledges Vinamilk’s contributions to innovation, production excellence and Vietnam’s national development, while highlighting the company’s five-decade role in building the country’s dairy industry.
The award follows an order signed on July 20 by Vietnam’s General Secretary and President To Lam to confer the company’s second Labor Hero title. Vinamilk previously received the prestigious national honour in recognition of its contributions to the country’s economic and social development.
The anniversary event, themed “50 Years – Serving Vietnamese Aspiration,” traced Vinamilk’s evolution from rebuilding dairy production facilities after the war to developing domestic dairy farming and expanding Vietnamese dairy products into international markets. The company’s brand is currently valued at approximately $2.6 billion.
The ceremony also recognised the contribution of Vinamilk CEO Mai Kieu Lien. Lien, a former member of the Party Central Committee and Labor Hero, received the Third-Class Independence Order from Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Vice President of Vietnam.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, Vinamilk announced donations of 600,000 cartons of milk to support children across Vietnam. Of this, 100,000 cartons will be provided to the Vietnam Association for Protection of Child Rights, while 500,000 cartons will be donated to the Vietnam Children's Fund for distribution to 11,000 children nationwide through the “Rise High Vietnam Milk Fund.”
The initiative builds on Vinamilk’s long-term support for child nutrition. The company said the programme has so far provided more than 43 million cartons of milk to over 550,000 Vietnamese children.
In recognition of its continued contribution to child health and nutrition, in partnership with Vietnam’s government and health sector, Vinamilk also received a Certificate of Merit from Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan.
The company said the 50th anniversary milestone reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening Vietnam’s dairy sector, improving access to quality nutrition and expanding the reach of Vietnamese dairy products globally.
